Week Two Down - ELL
Yes, I'm sure you noticed that I don't have a week one. We aren't even going to DISCUSS week one. It was weak and unacceptable and while I'd love to not count it, I feel I must, LOL This week was better, much better. I got 2 good work outs in, plus some swimming in the pool. When I say good, I mean better than none =P Down......ugh, do I have to say....... 1 pound this week. Losing is better than gaining though I suppose.
My obsession with my scale continues. I think it likes to see what kind of emotional havoc it can create in my life. I stomped on it the other day to teach it a lesson, but I get the impression that it hurt my foot more than the scale b/c then it just went up a pound. That's it's little way of laughing at me. We'll see who gets that last laugh when he gets replaced if he doesn't start cooperating.
I'm in the process of getting sick thanks to my husband, he's the best ;-)
Favorite food this week: Dannon Light and Fit yogurt, especially the vanilla and key lime flavors. 80 calories of yummy goodness in a disposable tub, just can't beat it

You cannot let weight be your primary barometer of success. I weigh myself quite a bit, for grins, but it doesn't begin to tell the whole story if you're working out. 1 year ago, I could run 2 miles in 22 minutes. I've run about 1000 miles in the last year, including a marathon, and now can run 10 miles at better than 9 minutes per mile almost on a whim. And I've lost 0 pounds. I weigh exactly what I did a year ago(which is to say 10+ lbs too much).
You need to monitor your FITNESS,for example I could do 15 lunges last week per set now I can do 20; or last week I jogged 1 mile and walked one and this week I jogged 1.5, then walked 1.5...
Far better gauge of your improvement and fitness, and gives you better motivation to push yourself.
It's definitely not my only barometer, was more a joke than anything. I do weigh myself often, but for me it's about my energy level, the way my clothes fit, the way I feel naked and other factors. But when you have a significant portion of weight to lose the scale can either make or break your day, LOL - ELL
